Fishing for the Soul

The fishing retreat has been good for the soul. This week I fished and fished and explored as I went. Specifically, I fished in Menethil Harbor for oily blackmouths and firefin snappers, then on to Theramore for a variety of fish and to pick up a fishing quest from Nat Pagle. Perched on his teeny island in the harbor, he oozes a placid oneness with the sea. I sought a similar spiritual enlightenment throughout the course of my retreat.

Quest in hand I proceeded to new fishing venues, making a brave foray into unexplored areas of Feralas and Desolace. First stop at Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas and then a quick trackback to the Verdantis River. Rendon joined me for an evening fishing expedition when, alas, I did not catch the quest fish.

However, bright and early yesterday morning I revisited the fishing hole and the desired fish practically leapt onto my pole! The Feralas Ahi was mine! Spurred on by my success and feeling at one with nature, I rapidly finished two more legs of the quest including a Sar'theris Striker off the coast of Desolace, not too far north of Feralas. I immediately traversed the entire world, arriving at the Vale of Stranglethorn where I rapidly completed the third leg of the quest. Unbeknownst to me I was sharing an outcropping with a deadly elite crocodile, but at one with nature as I was, he and I happily co-existed while I cast and reeled and victoriously hooked the Savage Coast Sailfin.

One final leg to go and the fishing quest is mine! Soon I must travel to the gloomy Swamp of Sorrows and obtain the elusive Misty Reed Mahi Mahi.

Did I capture the natural placidity of Nat? Perhaps not. But I am refreshed and revitalized and Lorel is no longer on retreat.
